WASHINGTON, D.C., March 20, 2008 – The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) successfully used a series of radio interviews to reach more than eight million listeners and promote the launch of a national grassroots initiative. The initiative, Stand Up for Veterans, is seeking to educate the public and members of Congress on the health care needs of all veterans.
"We are very pleased that the radio interviews provided DAV with an opportunity to encourage millions of Americans to join us in telling lawmakers that solutions are needed to make sure our veterans’ health care needs are fully met," said Joseph Violante, DAV's national legislative director.
Mr. Violante participated in more than 20 radio interviews with national radio networks, including CNN Radio and USA Radio Networks, and many leading radio stations in New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Atlanta and Washington, DC.
